Plyometrics have been used by coaches for many years by implementing jumping, bounding and hops to training sessions to increase the explosive power of athletes.

Plyometrics is a method of training which aims to improve the explosive reaction of performers through powerful muscular contractions (muscle shortens) as a result of rapid eccentric contractions (muscle lengthens).

There are many types of plyometric drills, these are the main categories which the drills come under

  • Jumps in place
  • Standing jumps
  • Multiple jumps
  • Box drills
  • Medicine ball
